“So don’t, stay here with me…we’ll start a jazz band”
Hi.
This is my first proper post of the new year, how has it been for you guys so far?
I’ve been crazy busy and ill at the same time so not a great mixture ha! But I’m going to try and commit to this blog properly. I want more flow on here…
As I say on my page “I love a lot of things”. So it’ll be random, but cool and interesting I hope. Just be prepared for some Asian persuasion, that all i’m saying haha!
I wanted to avoid posting countless images like so many other blogs, but I can’t help it. I’m going to go back to that but I’ll try and maintain some quality over quantity.
I think Tumblr is a great place to get inspiration and share things with people. But sometimes it can easily turn into a space full of what I call “blogging junk food”.
But I want to keep it fun. And although I’m beginning to enjoy writing I don’t want to bombard you with long posts. But I’m sure they’ll be the occasional one. I may also link you to posts I’ve made on various websites…
Also, i’ll steer away from personal “ohmygoodnesswhatismylife?!”posts and probably pictures of myself (poser much?! haha). I always cringe afterwards when I post a pic of myself haha!
Hopefully you’ll like it and encourage others to check it out my blog! and before I forget FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER!
Lets talk about Potiche.
Potiche (or Trophy Wife) came out way back in June but I’ve only recently watched it now. I loved Ms Deneuve’s performance as the yielding wife of Fabrice Luchini’s character Robert Pujol. Despite the fact that she is first viewed as a ‘Potiche’ by her children, she soon gains support to replace her rich industrialist husband’s umbrella company when the workers go on strike.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the story line at first and I didn’t think the plot was driving me anywhere special, so there were moments where my attention faltered. But there are aspects to this film that are fabulous.
I do commend Francois Ozon’s for taking a risk and doing a movie so notably different to his other films. Even if this is another female-driven movie like his other films like 8 Femmes, the subject matter is still a very contentious one. Definitely worth watching. Plus, the performances by Gerard Depardieu and Karin Viard make the film feel very amusing and enjoyable.
